About your Minnesota Delegate: Annette W
With this new Delegate’s page, I hope to make information from the ACA World Services Organization more accessible and understandable and to also share any ACA news that my Minnesota Fellowship desires to know. I invite the Fellowship to email me at mn-wso-delegate@adultchildrenmn.com with comments and/or questions on what you would like to know from WSO and see populated on this page.
At a later date, I will share my Experience Strength and Hope with respect to my own journey since my introduction to this fabulously painful but enlightening ACA 12-Step Fellowship. As it states in our literature, it’s not an easy program, but it sure works if you work it! Things happen the way they are supposed to happen, but dang! I wish I had explored the ACA Fellowship a bazillion years ago! Unfortunately (or is it Fortunately?), it took an emotional bottom to get me here and that is what is important.

Building on Our First Fellowship Group Vote
The Fellowship Group Voting process provides every registered ACA group with the opportunity to learn, discuss, and express its informed group conscience on matters approved by the Annual Business Conference for fellowship-wide consideration.
The first Fellowship Group Vote marked a significant milestone in ACA. A record 1,068 groups (41% of all eligible groups) participated—the highest level of group participation in more than 40 years. The fellowship demonstrated its commitment to informed group conscience, and members appreciated having a centralized place to access information, attend town halls, and participate in the voting process.
Now, every registered ACA group is invited to participate in the Second Fellowship Group Vote, which asks groups to consider a proposed revision to Concept II (Two).
What are groups voting on?
Groups are voting on whether to approve the following proposed revision to Concept II (Two).
Current Concept II (Two)
“Authority for the active maintenance of our world services is hereby delegated to the actual voice, the effective conscience for our whole fellowship.”
Proposed Concept II (Two)
“ACA groups delegate to the World Service Conference the authority to act as their effective voice and conscience, and to represent the fellowship in world service matters.”
Voting is open August 3 through December 3, 2026.
How did this proposal come about?
In 2022, the Annual Business Conference (ABC) established an ad hoc committee to study Concepts II and VI. Over the following years, the committee gathered fellowship input, studied the current wording, and developed a proposed revision to Concept II.
At the 2024 ABC, Conference delegates approved the proposed Concept II wording. At the 2025 ABC, delegates approved bringing the proposal to the fellowship through the Fellowship Group Voting process, giving every registered ACA group the opportunity to review the proposal and express its informed group conscience.
The results of the first Fellowship Group Vote were presented at the 2026 ABC. Conference delegates continue their service through Conference Business Meetings, where fellowship business is conducted and Conference decisions are made.
Stay Informed and Connected
Throughout the voting period:
- Monthly Open Forum Town Halls will be held on the third Saturday of each month at 11:00 a.m. ET and 9:00 p.m. ET (90 minutes each).
- Monthly emails will be sent to all registered ACA groups with reminders, updates, and upcoming events.
- Groups are encouraged to register a delegate for Conference Business Meetings or attend as an observer. The next Conference Business Meeting is September 26, 2026.

Every Group’s Voice Matters
The first Fellowship Group Vote demonstrated what ACA can accomplish when groups participate. Now we invite every registered ACA group to take part in the Second Fellowship Group Vote.
Whether your group ultimately votes yes, no, or abstains, your group’s participation contributes to ACA’s informed group conscience. We encourage every registered ACA group to review the materials, participate in discussion, and share its group conscience through the Fellowship Group Voting process.
Together, we strengthen our fellowship through participation, unity, and informed group conscience.
In Fellowship,
ACA WSO Board of Trustees & Fellowship Group Vote Team
SECOND FELLOWSHIP GROUP VOTE – CONCEPT II (TWO)

NAME CHANGE VOTE REPORT
UPDATE: 05/17/2026: Annual Business Conference Motion: Approved and accepted the Name Change vote.
Hello Fellow Travelers,
This is Annette W, your MN InterGroup Delegate (#IG56). I’m currently attending the 2026 Annual Business Conference (Sat 05/16/26 8am – 4pm and Sun, 05/17/26 8am – 4pm). I’ll be sharing a Delegate’s Report later, but wanted to share the following regarding WSO’ NAME CHANGE REPORT (updated May 2, 2026): FGV Report for 2026 ABC – Final.docx Slideshow: https://acawso.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/2026-ABC-FGV-Slides-Final.pdf
Some of the many interesting points in this Report are:
This started as a Proposal at an Annual Business Conference which then proceeded to a Survey sent to the entire world-wide ACA Fellowship. The idea of changing the Fellowship name has been in process for a long time and ultimately given to the Fellowship to vote on (per the Fellowship’s request)!
What does change:
- Fellowship Name to Adult Children of Alcoholics and Dysfunctional Families
- ACA acronym (abbreviated name) to ACAD
Does not change:
- Legal name on business contracts for ACA
- ACA WSO copyright
- Medallions with logo
Implementation may include updates to:
- Websites and digital platforms
- Literature, publishing and translations
FINANCIAL STEWARDSHIP
- Approx $12k-$24k/year over 5 to 10 years (1% of WSO’s budget)
- Approx $120k total subject to refinement
- Gradual implementation over time in alignment w approved budgets w ongoing tracking and review of costs based on available resources and fellowship priorities
Costs:
- Trademark registration
- Publishing updates, incl covers copyright pages, and formtting
- Republishing selected literature over time
- Audio and translated materials, as resources allow.
Literature Impacted:
- 7 English books published
- 5 English books in development
- 35 translated books published in multiple languages
- 90 translated books in development
The report goes into more details which I hope you find as interesting as I have found it.
